A more connected and compassionate Newcastle, built through service.

Newcastle Chinese Lions Club is a community service organisation bringing together members, families, and partners who want to serve with purpose, dignity, and practical care across Newcastle and surrounding areas.

With a strong multicultural outlook and close ties to the wider Lions network, we support fundraising, volunteer projects, local partnerships, and meaningful community participation for people of all backgrounds.

Inspired by the global Lions movement, our club is building a formal, trustworthy, and community-facing presence for Newcastle.

A small founding circle with a clear purpose: to serve Newcastle with heart and professionalism.

The club was formed to create a meaningful bridge between service-minded Chinese-Australian families and the wider Newcastle community.

Newcastle Chinese Lions Club began with a simple and practical idea: if people care deeply about the city they live in, they should have a trusted way to step forward and serve. Inspired by the example of Sydney Chinese Lions Club and supported by local Lions leaders, a founding group came together to establish a club that reflects both the spirit of Lions service and the identity of Newcastle's Chinese community.

From its inaugural meeting to its charter lunch, the club has been shaped by friendship, civic responsibility, and a desire to contribute in visible, practical ways. Early activities such as the Eat Up sandwich-making project and participation in community BBQ fundraising already reflect the kind of grounded, people-focused service the club intends to keep building.
